I am totally going to regret this post in about a week. So here goes nothing: Where the heck is all the zucchini?!?
Seriously, last year at this time I was already giving away zucchini to anyone who showed up. This year so far — nada.
I crave grilled zucchini. I can’t wait to make zucchini casserole and zucchini chocolate cake. Give me zucchini, or give me death!
Zucchini! Zucc… *click*
We interrupt this rant to bring you this message from Dr. Mangrela of the Central Ohio Mental Retreat: “Hello MWG readers! Brian has been admitted to COMR and is resting comfortably under heavy sedation. We are hopeful he will make a full and speedy recovery. Visiting hours are from 10AM to 2PM daily. Please leave the zucchini at home if you decide to visit…“

zucchini carrot relish…. We planted extra zucc’s this year to replentish the canned relishes. So far, one has appeared, and a lot of blossoms – so we are AHEAD of the game as far as last year goes… Last year was very very cool here for summer, and the zucc’s were not around til mid August
Yikes! This year it is a bit warmer, but not much.
Zucchini carrot relish sounds delicious — do you have a recipe you can share?
It’s the one in the More Favorites from Ruralite Cookbook, which I borrow from the library when the time comes
I’ll look for that at the library this week — thank you!
The local farmers market makes a phenomenal double chocolate zucchini bread. No recipes though. But the loaves are sold in miniature, half and full and they disappear fast.
This year has definitely been weird, weather wise.
That bread sounds awesome!
There is a great recipe for chocolate zucchini cake at http://www.meadowwoodgarden.com/chocolate-zucchini-cake-recipe/. It is very moist and delicious!
