It seems like good customer service is becoming harder and harder to find as the years pass. We often hear the horror stories about this company or that, but rarely hear about the good guys — companies that go the extra mile for their customers. Park Seed just went the extra mile for Meadowwood Garden and we’d like to recognize them for doing so. Here is the story:
About a year ago we placed an order with Park Seed for something or other we needed for the pending season. The item ended up being out of stock so after a month had passed we e-mailed them requesting them to cancel the order, which they graciously did. This wasn’t a problem with us at all — these things happen and we didn’t give it a second thought.
Flash forward to today. A postcard arrived from Park Seed apologizing for the item being out of stock and telling us they have cancelled the order. To compensate us for our disappointment they are giving us a merchandise credit that totals 150% of the original order amount! On top of that, we will receive 15% off the next order we place.
Needless to say we are stunned by this gesture. Considering that we had never paid for the original order and really weren’t upset at all we didn’t expect anything at all from Park Seed in the way of compensation. Things go out of stock all the time — it is part of life.
All we can say is — thank you Park Seed. If you are willing to go to these lengths to keep your customers happy then you are definitely deserving of our continued patronage.
