During a shopping trip with the folks we happened upon a garden center that had some very nice-looking and VERY large tomato plants for sale. They were at least a foot tall! By comparison, the tomatoes we are starting from seed are about an inch tall at most, and some are still germinating.
Leave it to my wonderful and very smart Mother to come up with a super idea — why not plant a few of them in her greenhouse and see what happens? This is something we have been curious about for a while, so naturally we were all for the idea!
Hopefully in the next few days we’ll be posting photos of our greenhouse maters! If this experiment works out we could be eating tomatoes a full month before the ones we set in the garden. And then next year we could plant even more early…
