The New Range!
No, no, no… It is not what you are thinking. Today after a year of procrastinating a new black Range sits in the kitchen!!! All I can say is — it is about darn time!
As background — when the house was purchased almost a year ago it had a nasty old gas range sitting in the kitchen. Although gas might cook better or whatever, I simply can’t stand the smell of it so I had it disconnected as part of the deal. For the past year I have basically been doing without a range. It honestly hasn’t been that rough, but there have been times it would just be nice to — say — boil up some water or maybe bake something.
Today with the help of my Brother (thank you!) we pulled the old gas line, removed the old range and made a slight modification to the counter (with a jigsaw no less!). Lowes showed up on time and installed the new one in a jiffy. It was so painless I’m wondering why I didn’t do this a long time ago…
The first thing I did to break it in was boil a pot full of water and make some noodles! Ahhhh… noodles… For supper it was a special treat consisting of a doctored up frozen pizza. It is the little things in life that are so good sometimes…
